ACF Annual Meeting 2026, 13 April 2026 (Day 1, Opening session)

The ACF Annual Meeting 2026 has been convened in Dar-es-Salaam this morning to gather our ACF delegates from all corners of the continent: Angola, Eswatini, Kenya, Mauritius, Morocco, Nigeria, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania, and Zambia, supported by regional competition authorities of EAC, COMESA and WAEMU.

A warm welcome was extended to our Delegates by:

  • Ms Khadjija Ngasongwa, Ag. Director General of Tanzania FCC, our event host
  • Mr Vipin Naugah, ACF Chairperson and Executive Director of the Competition Commission (Mauritius); and
  • Dr Aggrey K. Mlimuka, Chairman of the Tanzania FCC,

before the Meeting was formally opened at the hands of our Guest of Honour, Hon. Dennis Lazaro Londo, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tanzania.

Key take away from the Mr Vipin Naugah, ACF Chairperson and Executive Director, Competition Commission (Mauritius):

“As we meet today, it is important to reflect on how far we have come as a community. Not long ago, competition law and policy were still emerging across much of Africa. Today, we are part of a growing and increasingly confident network of authorities that are actively shaping markets and contributing to economic development and consumer welfare.

The ACF has contributed meaningfully to this progress. It has grown into a platform for cooperation, knowledge-sharing, and collective action — helping us move beyond isolated national efforts toward a more coordinated continental approach.“
