ACF Steering Committee Meeting 2026 | Geneva | 09 July 2026

The Steering Committee of the African Competition Forum (ACF) met today on the sidelines of the 23rd session of the UNCTAD Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Competition Law and Policy in Geneva. Chaired by Mr Vipin Naugah, Chairperson of the ACF and Executive Director of the Competition Commission, the meeting brought together Steering Committee members, ACF member authorities and strategic partners to discuss the Forum’s strategic priorities and ongoing initiatives.
The Committee reviewed progress on the ACF’s ongoing research and capacity-building initiatives, as well as efforts to strengthen collaboration with partner organisations. Members also explored opportunities to enhance engagement with continental institutions in support of the Forum’s mandate to promote effective competition regimes across Africa.
Preparations for the ACF Biennial Conference 2026 also featured prominently on the agenda. Held every two years, the Conference serves as the Forum’s flagship event and will provide the opportunity to elect a new Steering Committee to lead the ACF for the next mandate.
The meeting reaffirmed the ACF’s commitment to strengthening cooperation among African competition authorities, promoting knowledge-sharing, and advancing a vibrant and effective competition community for the benefit of African economies and consumers.
